"I promise that for the next 24 hours, I will do my best to make my little corner of the universe a better place."
Acts of kindness
There are so many things you can do to help brighten someone's day. Many things don't cost much, if anything.
~Give a hug
~Send a card
~Say "I love you"
~Leave enough change on a soda machine for the next person to get a free drink
~Carry someone's groceries to the car for them
~Smile at people
~Shovel snow for a neighbor
~Offer to babysit for a single mom - or any mom, for that matter
~Don't forget the moms (and dads) made temporarily "single" because a military spouse is deployed. They need help with yard work, child care, house repairs and everything that other single parents need.
Living 24 hours at a time
One thing I've started doing is seeing my life in 24 hour increments. I can always focus on the next 24 hours, right?
This doesn't mean not looking towards the future - far from it - it means living each 24 hours taking into consideration how it impacts your future and the future of everyone you come in contact with.
"How can I live my next 24 hours so that it makes a positive impact on my life and the lives of those around me?"
It's a question I am asking myself more and more - and you should, too.
